Kawah Ijen and The Sulfur Miners

Kawah Ijen, beautiful isn’t it? well i don’t think you can feel that way.. because how to get the feeling is only with traveling there and see it by yourself…

Kawah Ijen is a group of stratovolcanoes in East Java, Indonesia. It is inside a larger caldera Ijen, which is about 20 kilometers wide. The Gunung Merapi stratovolcano (not to be confused with Central Java’s Gunung Merapi) is the highest point of that complex, and the Western of Gunung Merapi is the Ijen volcano… bla bla bla… yah you can read about Kawah Ijen from Wikipedia…

There are two route that you can take to Kawah Ijen. You can use the route from Banyuwangi or the route from Wonosobo. Myself took the Wonosobo route.. because people said the route is more driver friendly… although the reality that the route was not driver friendly for me.. well my suggestion drive 4×4 SUV with you or you will feel some rock from bumpy road hit something from bellow of your car, like what was happen when i drove Toyota Avanza…
